In addition to the unloader valve, most major brands, such as Hotsy, Landa, and Karcher, also utilize several secondary pressure washer valves designed protect the equipment from damage and the user from injury.

There are several different designs of valves that may be found on your pressure washer, each of which serve a unique purpose. These include secondary safety devices including pop-off valves, rupture disks or thermal relief valves. There are also swing action check valves as well as spring-loaded check valves, and backflow preventors which protect water supply from harmful backflow, ball valves which offer easy on-off control of water flow and float valves that will shut off the water supply to your tank when it is full.
